We're delighted to be attending this year's TLDCON 2021, the 14th international conference for ccTLD registries.

Taking place on September 15th and 16th, the conference aims to engage leading registrars from different ccTLDs in discussions around Internet issues. A key focus for the conference is how the interactions between ccTLDs registries and registrars are organised - an issue that has recently become a hot topic. The event will also discuss the changing business models within the domain industry and what the new opportunities for the players will look like.

Head of CentralNic Registry, Gavin Brown, will be participating in a discussion on "Trust on the Internet and DNS Abuse".

The panel will discuss the new types of DNS threats within the domain space, as well as the countermeasures being developed by the domain community. On this point, Gavin will introduce DomainTrust, an intelligence platform that provides registries, registrars, and cyber protection agencies with high-quality, large-scale sets of data on suspected malicious and criminal domains being used in phishing attempts and malware distribution.

The speakers, who include representatives of law enforcement agencies, domain registrars and other industry organizations, will evaluate how effective the existing tools are at preventing domain abuse and identify the main trends in this area.

Gavin's session takes place on day 2, September 16th at 10:00-11:30 UTC+3 (Moscow Time).

Moderator: Mikhail Anisimov, ICANN.

Panellists:

  • Graeme Bunton, DNS Abuse Institute
  • Olga Baskakova, Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ
  • Gavin Brown, CentralNic
  • Patrick Myles, CENTR
  • Brian Cimbolic, PIR
  • Jordi Iparraguirre, EurID

It promises to be an enlightening session. Make sure you register for the event here.
