CentralNic Registry's mission is to run the world's best domain registry platform, which helps its registry clients successfully operate and market their TLDs, and help registrars to easily and efficiently register and their manage domain names, with a relentless focus on technical excellence, flexibility, and a close working relationship with key stakeholders.
Headquartered in London, and with offices across the world, CentralNic Registry is one of the world's leading registry services companies. It develops and licenses its own registry software and operates its own registry platforms. It also enables other registry operators to operate independent platforms (which may be shared or dedicated, hybrid or in-country), and powers a large number of domain extensions including ccTLDs, gTLDs, second-level domain registries (SLDs) and .brand TLDs. CentralNic's flexible approach allows it to configure a solution which matches the needs of the Registry Operator ranging from software-only licence through to complete registry management and distribution.
CentralNic's in-house DNS system, which powers the domain extensions, is a global network of nameservers geographically distributed around the world, which guarantees the stability, security and resilience of the domain names supported by CentralNic. This unmatched system maintained its unblemished record of 100% uptime for the twenty-fifth consecutive year.
CentralNic Registry is a division of CentralNic Group plc, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: CNIC), and is one of the world's leaders in the domain name industry, continuously developing to meet the domain market's evolving challenges and opportunities.
CentralNic is more than simply a technical service provider. CentralNic's team works closely with registry operators to provide a bespoke service that is tailored to fit their requirements. CentralNic clients get direct access to CentralNic's technical, policy, commercial, marketing and financial teams, and complete visibility on the operation and performance of their TLDs, thanks to CentralNic's open registry platform. This ethos of openness also inspires CentralNic to contribute to open source software development, Internet Protocol standards development (such as at the IETF), and to the ICANN community which decides domain name policies and best practices.
CentralNic Registry has been providing back-end registry platforms and management services for over twenty-five years. It is truly a global leader. It supports more than half of the top twenty new gTLDs, four of which have more than 1 million domains under management. In addition, CentralNic operates the back-end registries for a number of ccTLDs. CentralNic has also licensed its Registry software to other operators of gTLDs and ccTLDs, wishing to operate their own registries on-premises, for over twelve years.
